My name is Diego Pascua and I grew up in remote area in the Philippines. At a young age (5 y/o) I was introduced by my mother in selling vegetables and fruits products in the street. My mother always bring me with her, at 4:00 in the morning we travel 2hours via jeep (public transport) from our house to the wholesale market place to buy our products, after we travel to the next city 1 hour away from the house to sell our products in the street. I helped my mom arranged and sell our goods on the street walkway and sat their all day until we finished selling our products. In some occasions I sell our own little farm produce in the street with a basket of fruits and vegetables on my head and screaming the word MANLAKO which means “I am selling “to catch the attention of our neighbors to buy the produce I am selling.
At young age I have realized the value of making money the hard way but fun pleasure of delivering service and quality products to the community.
Because of this experienced I thought of starting the MANLAKO STORE to offer quality products that could helped simplify every unique individual needs not only for convenience but for life satisfaction. Also to introduce my children in the modern era of sales and inspire them to become a young entrepreneur.
